Action Needed: Important Update for Redefining Work Substack Subscribers
Important updates on Redefining Work Media, including this newsletter, podcasts, and new breaking news special coverage.
Hello, friends. 👋
I'm a big believer in building in public, so here's a look behind the scenes at how I've been thinking (and at times struggling) with content strategy.
Redefining Work Media has broadened over the past year and now includes a range of podcasts and two newsletters (including this one). I wanted to be more structured in how I approached the content and distribution.
The Redefining Work podcast joined the inaugural LinkedIn Podcast Academy last month. This has been a tremendous experience so far, and I want to make sure I'm incorporating what I'm learning into the podcast and my newsletter strategy.
I also want to do more breaking news coverage as some of these major events that impact the world of work unfold (i.e. Silicon Valley Bank).
Here's a breakdown of how it will all work moving forward.
Podcasts
The Redefining Work Podcast will now run on a weekly basis.
The guest interview episodes will continue to run every other week.
In between the guest interviews, you'll find one of the following:
Redefining Work Reports: A new opinion/breaking news podcast debuting next week where I weigh in and share context on key stories, news, trends, and resources from the world of work. I'll also be creating ad hoc breaking news Redefining Work Reports podcasts to add context to special events as they unfold.
The Riff: The Riff is a special series including co-hosts AJ Thomas ⚡️, Q Hamirani, and me where we tackle one topic or question through multiple perspectives. This is a special series without a set cadence so episodes will run whenever we record.

Here’s a preview of what you can expect in the new LinkedIn newsletters…
In this week's episode of Redefining Work, I sat down with Carmen Whitney Orr, Chief People Officer at Yelp. Carmen and I discuss her early roles at Home Depot and eBay, starting at Yelp during the pandemic, and how she’s helped Yelp become a remote-first organization.
We also discuss the findings of Yelp’s recent Remote Work Report and the impact remote work has had on their DEIB hiring and workforce (see clip below).
You can listen/watch the full episode here.
Next week is the debut episode of Redefining Work Reports. 🎉
Here's what I'll be covering in the first episode:
An inside look at the inaugural LinkedIn Podcast Academy
Overview of the Amplify Academy HR Growth Sprints
Spotify's Disco People Analytics tool
Kindness as a business strategy

Free Webinar - The Evolution & Future of the CPO (April 19, 10-10:45am EST)
I'm looking forward to partnering with my friends at Sana on a webinar next week. Here's the overview.
HR has never experienced so much change. Post-pandemic, the world is retiring industrial-era concepts of work and reimagining where, when, and how we do our jobs. That includes the CPO. To embrace this once-in-a-generation opportunity, People leaders need to redefine their role. Lars Schmidt will show you how.
🏡 Kim Rohrer helps us ensure our team's well-being without sacrificing our own
Paul Ladipo drops some #tuesdaytea on the wave of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation
Stacey La Torre shows us how to operationalize kindness at work
Katarina Berg takes us disco dancing sharing this HRD Connect case study on Spotify's Disco people analytics tool
Lars Schmidt announced a new universal search and ChatGPT integration in the Amplify Academy AI Learning Lab.

Note: I implore my HR friends, we have to be paying attention to this space. Any time investment you make in learning about these new generative AI tools is time well spent.
