Inside LinkedIn Future of Recruiting Report (Redefining Work Newsletter, March 22, 2023)
This week's newsletter explores LinkedIn's new future of recruiting event, LinkedIn's podcast Academy, Remote's open-source people leader guide, Josh Bersin's new HR Operating System, and more.
It has been quite the year for recruiters.
The canary in the coal mine analogy has never been more apt as the recruiting community continues to bear the brunt of layoffs and RIFs across tech.
Yesterday LinkedIn dropped its annual Future of Recruiting Report.
It’s packed with insights and well with your time to read in full.
TL;DR, here are a few of the stats that stood out to me:
81% of recruiters say they need to work more closely with L&D
68% of recruiters are "very hopeful" or "cautiously optimistic about using generative AI in recruiting
74% of recruiters say the economic environment is NOT lowering the priority of DEI recruiting efforts
20% say DEI recruiting priority is higher now
75% of recruiters predict skills-first hiring will be a priority for their company in the next 18 months......yet....
....Only 64% of recruiters feel they can accurately assess a candidate's skills today
You can check out the full report below.

My favorite conference is coming to the U.S.!
I attended my first RecFest in London in 2016. I had been following their first several events online and was blown away by the experience they seemed to be creating - a truly festival-style celebration of recruiting.
When I experienced it live, it exceeded my already sky-high expectations. I’ve been to five RecFests since and couldn’t be more excited that they’re expanding across the pond to Nashville this year.
Now is your chance to join the magic in Nashville September 13-14. Grab your early-bird tickets here.
