Sneak Peek: Using Perplexity Pages To Build Dynamic Career Profiles
Discover how Perplexity Pages can transform the way we present our portfolio of experiences with dynamic AI content.
The landscape of resumes and recruiting has remained relatively static since the advent of the Internet.
Despite technological advancements transforming nearly every aspect of our professional lives, the traditional resume has remained unchanged.
Why is that? We’ve made leaps and bounds of progress in so many areas, yet we’re still focusing our hiring efforts on static resumes we relied on 25+ years ago when they were faxed.
For decades, resumes have been the cornerstone of job applications
A simple document listing your education, work experience, skills, and references. While the format has slightly evolved to accommodate digital platforms like LinkedIn, the essence remains static.
This rigidity often fails to capture the full scope of an individual's abilities, achievements, and potential.
Traditional resumes are static snapshots frozen in time
They lack the depth and dynamism to reflect ongoing professional growth, real-time updates, and the multifaceted nature of modern careers.
In an era where agility and adaptability are prized, our career profiles need a makeover.
This is where Perplexity Pages steps in, offering a more dynamic, engaging, and comprehensive way to present our professional selves.

Using Perplexity Pages for Dynamic Career Profiles
I’ve been using Perplexity as a search tool for months. It has replaced Google as my search engine.
I’ve seen its search power firsthand, so I was intrigued by the ability to publish some of my search results to share what I’m learning with my community.
As I began experimenting with Pages, another use case came to mind.
Could Perplexity Pages be used to create dynamic career profiles? The answer: yes and no. I’ll explain.
Perplexity scours the open Internet and presents its findings in easily digestible summaries with citations and reference links. That information packaging is one of the reasons it’s such a powerful search tool.
Like search queries, creating a robust, dynamic personal profile requires a certain volume of indexable content.
In my case, I’ve been creating a range of content on the internet for over a decade, including media publications, podcasts, books, awards and recognition, etc. That means I have a sizable digital footprint for Perplexity to pull from.
You can check out my profile example here.
Would it work for recent grads or professionals whose work is mostly offline? I’m not sure.
I’m going to continue experimenting with it over the coming weeks and will share a part two on this post as I get more familiar with the functionality.
Perplexity is shipping and interesting like crazy, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the product I’m reviewing today will be different that the one I’ll report back on next month.
In the meantime, you can take Perplexity Pages for a spin here. Be sure to add any pages you’re publishing in the comments so I can check them out.
Keep building! ✌🏼
