The Quest Begins: A Bigfoot’s Search for Belonging (and Berries)
Introducing The Quest—a generative AI employer brand storytelling experiment with heart, humor, and hyperrealism.
I’ve been quietly working on something delightfully weird behind the scenes, and today I finally get to share it with you. It’s a new experiment at the intersection of storytelling, AI, and whimsy—and it all starts with a 7-foot-tall bigfoot named Barry.
Allow me to introduce The Quest.
The Quest is an employer brand industry first - an episodic series featuring an AI-generated character.
This isn’t your typical video series. It’s a bite-sized (episodes are ~ one minute long, AI-generated adventure chronicling a blueberry-loving Bigfoot named Barry’s obsessive journey to join Fruitist—the company behind the world’s most delicious blueberries, the legendary Jumbos.
Barry was inspired by the AI-generated Bigfoot memes that have been sweeping your social media feeds.
This Bigfoot is quirky, goofy, and hard not to root for in his quest for his dream job. He’s determined to live a life drenched in blueberry bliss. His saga is packed with fast-paced cuts, absurd situations, and a big heart.
I created The Quest as a creative playground—a space where tech meets storytelling. It started as an experiment as I wanted to learn how to create AI videos - and grew into a 10-episode pilot.
So without further ado, I give you our debut episode: Ep1: Meet Barry.
Absurd, right? Yes. But also fun. Short and sweet—just like a Jumbo.
Over the coming weeks, Barry will steal a laptop, create a LinkedIn profile, get headshots from a squirrel, and try out several jobs at Fruitist.
It’s going to get weird in the best way.
Each episode is created using generative AI tools (primarily Google’s Veo 3), but at its core, it is storytelling that remains grounded in warmth, curiosity, and a hint of chaos.
